"One Way Out" Is a short Resident Evil 1-inspired Horror experience made in just over a week.

Made as an exploration into classic gameplay tropes and an excuse to revisit one of my favourite games ever, it was a great experience of systems design and iteration and will no doubt form the basis of a much larger project in the future!

It's playable with Keyboard or PS4 pad. Xbox Pad experience may vary.

UPDATES :
0.9.1a now contains an Options Menu for resolution and audio.
Audio settings also accessible In-Game with the ESCAPE key.
Should have fixed some known Camera bugs.

0.9.2a Fixed a game-breaking bug with the Message system. Improved Inventory graphic transitions. Added Enemy Hit Reactions. Some level tweaks.

1.0 Includes a total rework of the Door system, item system and a run for optimisation. Considered Complete, apart from bug fixes.

This is pretty damn cool, man. I struggled with the aiming quite a bit but it was still pretty fun. Nice job!

Thank you for playing it! Sorry it took so long to watch your video.
In response to similar feedback, the enemies are much more obvious when you shoot them and the Inventory has had a bit of a rework (as well as a little more ammo in the game!)

There should be a majorly updated version end of next week, but the above fixes are already in :)

Very good, I loved it and at the end the resident evil 3 reference was top :D, I wish I had more inventory space or be able to drop items, will you try to make this a full game ? I liked it very much

PS at 10:35 you can see I had camera trouble and could peak into the other room

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm currently doing another pass on the cameras after similar comments, and I'm very tempted to take the systems in the game and make much more of a full project out of it (including storage boxes - the code exists for about half of it, but I didn't have time to get it in!)
